San Sebastian, officially known as Donostia San Sebastian is the capital city of Gipuzkoa province of Basque country, Spain. Its scenic coastline makes the city a popular resort in Spain. Mount Ulia and Mount Adarra surround the city and river Urumea makes the entire city fertile. Basically the city is divided into three parts or ranges: City Centre, The Romantic Area and the Old Quarter.
The city centre is located at the start of Amara district. The picturesque island of Santa Clara can be accessed by boat and is suitable for relaxing the whole day. San Sebastian Town Hall which is located in the centre of the city was once a Casino and was renovated and opened in 1924.

San Sebastian’s Film Festival is possibly the most famous film festival in Europe and is held in September each year. Visit the Jazz festival if you are in the city during July. But during this period, you will not get a proper hotel to check in if you have not booked in advance. San Sebastian’s Day is celebrated on January 20th every year and the whole city is bundling with energy at that time.
Tours from San Sebastian are numerous; depending upon your time and budget, you have the option to plan your day trip. San Sebastian to Bilbao is just 100 km and it can be reached either by ALSA Bus or by local train network called Euskotren. You can enjoy guided tours to Biarritz where you can walk through the Old Quarter, head towards the border, cross the village of Pasajes reaching Biarritz, nicest beach in the city, could be called King of Beaches.
